Health Sync: Google to Apple
Bring your Google health data into Apple Health.
About the app
Health Sync imports your health and fitness data from your Google account into Apple Health, directly on your iPhone. Sign in with Google, choose what to import — steps, heart rate, sleep, body measurements and more — and run the import manually or let automatic background sync keep Apple Health up to date.
Privacy: your data flows one way, from Google to Apple Health, entirely on your device. Nothing is ever sent to us or to any third-party server.
Frequently asked questions
Which data types can be imported?
Steps, active energy, walking & running distance, heart rate, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, body mass, body fat percentage, flights climbed, water, blood glucose, body temperature, VO₂ max, blood oxygen, respiratory rate, height, and sleep.
I imported data but can't see it in Apple Health
Make sure the app is allowed to write to Apple Health: open Settings → Apps → Health → Data Access & Devices, select this app, and turn on the data types you want. Then run the import again — re-importing never creates duplicates.
Google sign-in fails or asks for permissions again
The app requests read-only access to your Google health data. If you declined a permission during sign-in, the affected data types can't be imported — sign out from the app's settings, sign in again, and accept all requested permissions. If your session has expired, signing out and back in also fixes it.
How does automatic sync work?
When you enable Automatic Sync, iOS runs the app in the background roughly once a day and imports anything new since the last sync, with a notification on completion. A few things to know:
- iOS decides the exact moment; timing varies with your usage and battery.
- Keep Background App Refresh enabled in Settings.
- Don't force-quit the app from the app switcher — that stops iOS from waking it.
Is my health data shared with anyone?
No. The import happens entirely on your device: the app reads from Google's API and writes straight into Apple Health. There is no server of ours in between, no account to create, and no analytics on your health values.
How do I remove imported data?
Open the Apple Health app, go to Browse, pick a data type, tap Show All Data, and delete entries from this app. Deleting the app also lets you remove all of its data when iOS asks.
